1. Information You Add to the App

YatraNidhi stores the information you enter so it can calculate trip budgets and balances. This may include:

• Trip names, destinations, descriptions, dates, status, and cover images.
• Member names, phone numbers if entered, notes, colors, avatars, and active/frozen status.
• Contribution amounts, recharges, manual corrections, expenses, categories, notes, and receipt images.
• Ledger entries, membership periods, split records, generated summaries, and backup metadata.
• Settings such as theme mode, currency symbol, PDF style, and backup preferences.

2. Offline Storage

Local storage is the primary source of truth. The app uses a local relational database for financial records and ledger calculations. This means your trip can be created, edited, summarized, and settled even when there is no internet connection.

3. Optional Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is optional. Nothing is uploaded for normal offline use. If you choose cloud backup, a copy of your selected app data may be sent to the configured cloud backup service so you can restore it later or move to another phone. Cloud backup may require authentication and network connectivity.

Cloud backup is intended for convenience, not as the only copy of your records. You remain responsible for keeping your own backups before resetting, uninstalling, or changing devices.

4. Local Export and Sharing

The app can generate encrypted local backup files, PDFs, and shareable receipts. When you export, print, or share a file, that file may leave the app and be handled by your device, printer, messaging app, file manager, email client, or cloud storage provider selected by you.

5. Permissions

YatraNidhi requests permissions only when needed for selected actions:

• File or media access may be used for choosing trip covers, receipt images, imports, or exports.
• Network access may be used for optional cloud backup or remote image suggestions when configured.
• Printing and sharing use your device’s standard print/share flows.

6. Default Images and Third-Party Assets

The app includes small default trip cover images derived from Unsplash-hosted travel photographs. These bundled images are decorative defaults and do not contain your personal trip information. If you pick your own cover or receipt image, that selected image remains part of your local app data unless you export, share, or back it up.

7. Data Deletion

You can edit trips and members, freeze members instead of deleting financial history, void expenses, import backups, or reset local data from the app. Financial records are designed around auditability, so the app may preserve historical ledger entries unless you perform a full local data reset or restore over existing data.

8. Security

Offline data stays on your device. Encrypted local backup files depend on the password you choose. Cloud backup security depends on the configured backup service, account security, and network availability. Do not share backup files, PDF receipts, screenshots, or passwords with people who should not see trip financial details.

9. Children and Sensitive Use

YatraNidhi is a utility for trip and group expense management. It is not designed to knowingly collect children’s personal information. Do not enter sensitive personal, medical, legal, or banking information unless you are comfortable storing it on your device and backups.
